A Conference Presentation on:

Mobile Health, Wearable Technologies, and Generative AI in Behavioral Medicine

Abstract:

This presentation explored the role of mobile health, wearable devices, and generative artificial intelligence in behavioral medicine. It considered how continuous physiological and behavioral data can support real-world health research, timely and adaptive interventions, and more personalized models of care, while highlighting the need for responsible development and evaluation of AI-enabled health technologies.

About Lecturer:

Amir M. Rahmani, Ph.D., is Co-Director of the UCI Institute for Future Health and a professor in the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing and the Department of Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine. His interdisciplinary research spans artificial intelligence for health, wearable and mobile sensing, health informatics, machine learning, and physiological signal analysis.

External Conference Presentation | Society of Behavioral Medicine

Prof. Amir M. Rahmani presented a lecture on mobile health, wearable technologies, and generative artificial intelligence in behavioral medicine at the Society of Behavioral Medicine’s 47th Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions (SBM 2026).

About the Presentation

The presentation examined how mobile health platforms and wearable devices can capture real-time physiological and behavioral information, enabling researchers to study health in everyday contexts and develop more responsive interventions. It also considered the emerging role of generative AI in behavioral medicine, including opportunities for personalized digital health support and the importance of responsible design and evaluation.

These complementary technologies can help connect continuous sensing with adaptive, patient-centered approaches to health promotion, intervention delivery, and clinical decision support.
